  11. We are an ISP and we need to start looking at different rack mount modems.
  12. We had standardized on USR Courier 28.8's (standalone) and then started
  13. buying the rack-mount versions.  They work great, but USR can't provide
  14. them anymore.  If they can't keep up it's time to look at other brands.

  16. We need rack-mount modems that support v.34 speeds.  The units must have a
  17. fan for cooling.  I don't really care if the individual modems are hot
  18. swapable.  They should be pretty much ready to go out of the box (ie: all
  19. cables included).

  21. Any suggestions?  Cost is not an issue.

  23. *DON'T* suggest Microcom - they stink.  I have one of their rack units
  24. sitting here on my desk and it's about to be packaged up and sent back.
  25. What don't I like about it?  Here's a list:

  27.    - Twice as big as the USR racks.
  28.    - About four times as heavy.
  29.    - No cooling fan, runs hot.
  30.    - Doesn't come with the proper cables so there's no way to plug in
  31.      phone lines until you build them yourself or order them at an extra
  32.      cost.
